Age Restricted Goods
Policy for the Online Sales

Age Verification
Our Age-Restricted goods are typically only sold through our website.
As part of the transactional process, we will attempt to verify the age of the person purchasing any bladed product using Experian's Prove ID Service.
This system will seek to verify the customer's details against several databases in order to clarify the customer's age.

Policy for In-store Items

ID Verification
When you're being served at the checkout, you'll expect the following if you're planning to buy any bladed items:
- POS is displayed next to knife section containing the text "1996 Offensive Weapons Act. It is an offence under the above Act to sell Knives or blades to anyone under the age of 18. Please do not be offended if we ask for ID."
- Our mission statement is displayed in store windows and at the cash desk and contains the following text: "It is illegal to sell knives to anyone who is under the age of 18. Proof of age must be provided when requested."
- All Sales advisors get trained on Knife Sales upon employment. This training is repeated on a quarterly basis to stay aware of their obligation on behalf of Cooks Mart and is logged in their training record.
- Our EPOS till system will raise a prompt asking your cashier to check and verify your age for every order containing restricted items. If you appear to be under-21, you'll be asked to provide official ID. This may show on your receipt.
